Success Stories

Stan was a lifesaver for me and my math skills or what little I started with. After being out of school for almost 30 years, I decided to return to school and needed to take general ed classes, which ALWAYS seem to include math. In order to obtain my B. A. degree I had to take four different math classes, all more difficult than the last. If it had not been for Stan and his driving force, his honesty about what to expect, and his enthusiasm for my learning, I would never have been able to accomplish my excellence in math. I say "excellence" because that is exactly what kind of math student I became under the tutelage of Stan.

Since my work with Stan I have become a 5th grade teacher and have recently obtained my Masters in Teaching Leadership. I would recommend Stan to ANYONE at any math level, he can help everyone, no matter what your ability.
It was 2007 and the Real Estate Market tanked! I was a 36-year old man who had a B. A. in Psychology and is now looking for another profession. I found a job opening for PG E and another job opening to become a Multiple Subject School Teacher. Both jobs had entrance exams that required math skills. Math was the one subject that I never mastered or truly understood.

The entrance exams both had division of fractions and Algebra on them. To place myself in a good position and excel on those entrance exams I went to Stan. I was scared to start over, I was scared to be looking for a job and I was scared to try and re-learn Math! Thanks to Stan. I am now employed and in a good position to provide for my family. If you are nervous about math, don't be. Stan will make math understandable.
Since I was young I've always struggled in my math classes. I always pulled below average math grades and always felt extremely discouraged. At the beginning of my senior year I applied for college, but was certain I would not get accepted into any school. I was accepted into four of my top choices, but was sure my admissions would be revoked because my math grade for the first semester was below par. The only way I would be able to attend the college of my choice was to get a higher grader in the second semester. When I began the second semester math class I had no understanding of the material and felt incredibly disheartened, so I gave up.

After a week I decided that giving up was not my style, so I decided to continue with the math class. Luckily my teacher suggested a wonderful tutor for me. The first time I met with Stan I was anxious to get started, and he assured me it would be tough, and I would have to work hard to be successful, but he also told me it would be worth it. When I started working with Stan I noticed that different methods, especially repetition, worked for me.

Slowly but surely I started doing better on tests, understanding my homework and gaining confidence. I still struggled more than other students, but with Stan, Nick and Kyle's help I eventually had a grade I could feel proud of, and I will be attending CSU Monterey Bay. I know I would not have passed my math class if I had not used Aletech Math Tutoring. Having great tutors is about more than just learning; it's also about working toward a goal and gaining confidence when that goal is achieved.

Stan is a wonderful tutor, and I think Aletech is a great place to better ones math and study skills.
When my son Stephen met Stan, he was extremely frustrated and very behind the other students in his Algebra/Trig class. He tried meeting with the teacher and going to after-school tutoring. Nothing worked, and his grade was falling daily. His self-esteem and confidence were plummeting even faster. I knew I had to do something, but we had tried other big-name, expensive tutoring places, with no positive result.

All that changed from the first tutoring session with Stan. Stan is very organized - something an ADHD child absolutely requires - and explains everything in a way that teenagers understand. He gives homework to reinforce his tutoring, and for once Stephen never complained about more homework! He actually looked forward to working with Stan, something that he had never experienced with other tutoring companies we had tried.

Stephen's grade went from a C- to an A- in a matter of weeks. Not only that, Stephen no longer hated math, no longer dreaded nightly math homework, and most importantly, was not stressing about his grade or having to attend summer school because he failed Algebra/Trig.

I have recommended Stan to friends who have had the same results. I cannot recommend Stan highly enough, and if your child is struggling in math, run - don't walk - and take one of the available slots that Stan may have, no matter what time of the day or night.

Because Stephen's GPA raised so dramatically, and because Stephen did so well in math on the ACT, he was accepted to his first choice college. And isn't that what we all hope for our children?
Math has been a struggle my entire life, until Stan came along my freshman year of high school. I got very lucky I found him when I did because there was no way I would've graduated high school let alone gotten into college without him. My confidence and self esteem were at an all time low and my attitude was even worse. My parents had tried just about everything to get me to pass simple math classes but I was so far behind it was nearly impossible.

The day I had my first meeting with Stan was the day my luck turned around. He transformed me into a positive, hard working, and dedicated math student. At that point, I was even excited to go to tutoring and learn. My test scores as well as my grades sky rocketed thanks to his time and cooperation.
I had zero confidence in my math ability, when I decided to give Stan a call. Through his patient hands on tutoring style, I went from a D student in math to a B+. Because of my transformation I was able to refine my math skills and eventually became an economics major, taking Calculus courses with ease. I can't say how appreciative I am to have worked with Stan. I went from hating math to now having a passion for it. I highly recommend the investment.
I have always struggled in math for as long as I can remember. I was attending Diablo Valley College and saw a flier, and thought I would try it. Going to Stan was the best thing I could have ever done. He built my confidence and my grades improved from a D to an A. I never thought I would ever be able to get an A in college math. It is because of him that I have been accepted into nursing school by strengthening my math skills. I am very thankful that he was my tutor. It is definitely worth everything.
